Rani Alfers

Rani Alfers has been an Agency owner since 2005, starting with a scratch agency after a move from Lake Charles, Louisiana to Dallas, TX. Her back ground as an entrepreneur opening a business in college and then building and running a multi-million-dollar liquor distributor has taught her one thing – relationships are everything.  The Agency was built on referral marketing and her growth to 3700 PIF  and business model changed drastically after being on the initial phase of platform 4 years ago. She’s qualified for 2 Toppers and 1 Championship so far and is working toward a 4 UQI and a perfect 7 on the growth model by building a bigger and stronger agency.

Her staff currently consists of 2 Producers 2 CSR’s  2 Marketers, and is in the Addison area of Dallas. She moved there last September after outgrowing her old space and created a more modern, SMART and open working environment with room to grow!

She has one son Carter who is five years old and in her personal time she loves travel, great food and friends.

David Brown

David Brown is the Territory Agency Manager for the Texas Territory.  David
joined Farmers in 2008 as a Reserve District Manager and has held various
roles in Home Office as well as expansion Territories.  During his time
with Farmers, he has worked on several programs and initiatives including
the New Agent Programs, Mergers & Acquisitions as well as Centralized
Sourcing.   Prior to joining Farmers, David worked for a large consumer
lending and finance company as a Senior Account Executive and AVP in the
southern Ohio market where he received numerous awards for sales
achievement and leadership.  He graduated from Wright State University in
Dayton, Oh with a major in Social Sciences Education.  David, his wife
Elizabeth and their 2 children, Gavin (8) and Ava (5) currently live in
Round Rock, TX .

Karen James

Karen James has worked for Farmers and in the insurance industry for over 10 years. Herrecognized strengths in account management, planning/implementing effective and efficientprocedures has brought her to Greg Windham’s District 90. She has worked in all facets of anagency up to Account Executive/ Office Manager for highly successful Farmers Agents. Karen handled accounts for large client base agencies; building strong relationships, account retention, and increased sales.

In 2012, Karen created Sync Business Consulting to consult agents and companies on comprising their social media and train on how to market on the internet in order to provide a diverse social media presence in promoting their business and services offered. This social media consulting agency was created for website promotion, enhancing social network and targeting the potential clientele online by utilizing media sources.

Karen has now joined District 90 in a new role as an Agency Business Consultant working with select agents to coach on enhancing growth and strengthening their core business foundation. She is also here to support new agency owners in establishing good processes early for long term achievement and success. In her free time Karen enjoys photography and graphic design and is attending the University of North Texas working on her Marketing degree.

Alycen Lucy

Alycen became an agent in 2003, after a successful, 11-year career in store management with HEB Grocery company. The experience in retail sales and customer service proved to be a huge asset to Alycen in building her scratch agency. In 2010, Alycen made a commitment to go all-in with Farmers Insurance and began taking steps to propel her agency to the next level. She was blessed to be accepted in the first wave of the Farmers Agency Platform Program where she learned new systems and new methods to enhance her agency. In the 3 years on that program, her agency grew by 1218 policies and waived 100% of the subsidy provided through the program. Since she waived 100% of the subsidy, she was invited to begin a second round of the platform program and has had continued success.

In 2013, Alycen met her husband Dusty Lucy at Championship in Chicago, Illinois. He was an agent in Albuquerque, New Mexico at that time. After a whirlwind courtship, the two were married in October 2014. He sold his agency and joined her agency in Austin, Texas. In their first year of business together they were chosen for the agency’s first President’s Council award for 2015. The agency success continued since, with another Presidents Council selection for 2016.

Alycen and Dusty believe in hard work and always doing the right thing. They strive to build a culture in their agency of educating clients and helping them make the right choices to protect their assets and families. They are 100% grateful to God and Farmers Insurance for all they have achieved.

David Porter

David Porter and his wife, Lauren, reside in Birmingham, Alabama where David is the owner a
thriving Farmers Insurance Agency. David has multiple college degrees and extensive post-
graduate training in insurance and financial services and has worked in the industry for over
fifteen years. A second generation insurance agent, his agency has been consistently recognized as an industry leader through multiple national and international honors, including multiple Presidents Council selections, Championship and Toppers Club awards and even qualifying for the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table. He has led his territory the last two years in life policies written, gross written life premium, bonus eligible premium and GDC.

But, what gives David the most satisfaction is knowing he has been successful helping others meet their financial goals and dreams. Annette Rubio

Annette Rubio has worked in the insurance industry for over 28 years. Shejoined the Farmers family at the agency level and has move up the ranksworking in diverse roles in District Management for 16 years.Annette has a full career working with District Managers and has mentoredAgents throughout their careers in these District offices. She has workedclosely with Reserve and Career Agents, providing training, day to daysupport, and helped to develop and implement marketing systems in theiragencies. Annette has helped to recruit new agents interested in becomingsuccessful business owners with District Mangers.Annette Rubio’s path has led her to Greg Windham and District 90 whereshe is an Agency Business Consultant. In her current role, Annette coaches and drives performance with both Career Agents and Full Time Agencies. As an Agency Business Consultant, she uses her many years of experience and knowledge motivating Agents to Success. Annette celebrated her 25 th anniversary with Farmers this past year and has loved working for such an amazing company. Annette enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

Brian Scott

Brian started his career with Farmers in December of 2012.  Brian careered five weeks after starting his reserve period with Farmers.  After 4.5 years as an organic Farmers agent, Brian has built an agency from 0 policies to currently around 5,100 Policies in Force (PIF) with 11 staff members.  Brian has achieved Championship and Toppers club for multiple years.Before Farmers, Brian made a living as a musician by night, and a quality control analyst by day.  Other than his passion for Farmers and music, Brian enjoys snowboarding, river floating, and spending time with his wife.  The next steps and goals for Brian and his agency are to increase commercial production, and to achieve President’s Council.

Megan Suwek

Megan Suwek, AINS  graduated from Utica College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance. During college she held various  insurance internships with State Farm Joan Brown Agency (located in New Hartford, NY), and Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield (located in New Hartford, NY). Upon graduation Megan immediately became an Associate Underwriter with a small regional carrier in Upstate New York “Utica First Insurance Company”. After a year and a half Megan was promoted to an Underwriter position and Achieved her AINS designation in the fall of 2014. She has been mentioned in The New York Insurance Association’s publication “Your NY Connection”  and several other trade publications.

Megan relocated in November of 2015 to Austin, Texas to become a member of the Farmers Commercial Underwriting Team. After 9 months of working as a New Business Underwriter, Megan was promoted to the North Texas New Business State Owner for premiums under $15,000. She is currently working towards achieving her CPCU and immensely enjoys working with all of her assigned districts.

Brett Vance

The Brett Vance Insurance Agency is an organically grown agency started by Brett and Sherri Vance.  Brett was in the oil and gas industry for 10 years before starting his career with Farmers in 2004.  Sherri was practicing for 12 yrs in her field of Psychology before joining the agency one year later.  They have a staff of 7 and currently hold 5000 PIF.  Their accomplished career includes 8 District agency of the year awards, 12 Topper Club qualifications, 10 Championship qualifications and 2 Presidents Councils.  Their charity work currently includes Toys For Tots, Vernon Wells’ PERFECT 10 Charity and Spokes for Hope.  They have received the Angela Geisner Community Service award in 2014.  Brett graduated from New Mexico State University in 1994. His wife Sherri graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1993.  They have two children, Logan, 18 who will be attending the University of Arkansas on scholarship in the fall, and Abigail, 13 a freshman entering Keller High in the fall.
